SharePoint enterprise is for corporations where as sharpooint standard is small group of people.

For the pricing point, Sharepoint standard can be a good option.
Other than that
SharePoint enterprise is good to use for big companies/corporations where a lot of workforces are required.
SharePoint is good for small teams or small groups of people.
